Doctoral researcher (PhD) in consumer law (DILLAN)

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance offers three Bachelor programmes, four Master programmes of Management and Economics and six Masters of Laws (LL.M.), as well as several continuing education courses. It also includes the Doctoral School in Law and the Doctoral School in Economics and Finance. Around ۲,۵۰۰ students from ۹۰ different nationalities are enrolled at the Faculty. In the context of the Doctoral Training Unit on DIgitaLisation Law And INnovation (DTU DILLAN) Professor Elise Poillot is opening one funded PhD position in consumer law.  The doctoral candidate is expected to develop and work on a project relating to digitalization and consumer law. Topics may include (but are not limited to) the use of data by businesses, a new challenge for consumer law? Defining the category of consumers in the digital era. Co-regulation: a new way of approaching B2C relationships?

Your Role…
  • The doctoral candidate will conduct research under the guidance of Prof. Poillot with the aim of studying towards a PhD in Law.
  • The doctoral candidate will publish research results and present them at conferences, workshops, etc.
  • S/he shall contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
What we expect from you…
  • Master’s degree in Law.
  • The doctoral candidate must have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English or French, and possibly a third language. A “C1 level” in French language is required as the PhD candidate will collaborate with the Clinique du droit, which operates in French.
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills are required.
